Lemonade with ginger, mint and lemon balm

Ingredients

1000 gr. Water

250 gr. Sugar

250 gr. Lemon juice

100 gr. Ginger

Lemon peels

Mint

Lemon balm

Method

  1. Wash the lemons very well, 8-10 lemons for about 250 gr. juice.

  2. Squeeze the lemons and keep the juice aside.

  3. Put the sugar, water and the mashed ginger in a saucepan.

  4. Boil to dissolve the sugar and get all the flavor from ginger.

  5. Remove from the heat and add the lemon juice, cover the pot with plastic wrap or a lid and let it cool.

  6. Drain the lemonade from a fine sieve in a bowl.

  7. Keep the lemonade in the refrigerator for 4-5 days (if we make a large amount of lemonade or want to keep it for more days, we put it in sterile bottles).

  8. Serve the lemonade with cubes of ice or cold water because it is quite intense with mint leaves and lemon balm.
